About me as an AUTHOR:
My most recent publication is the one that matters most to me, the one that conveys my passion for the potential of teaching to empower our children to discover their gifts and use them in ways that bring them lives of satisfaction and joy.
Although I don’t remember being encouraged, I also don’t remember a time when I didn’t write. As a little girl, I wrote and performed puppet shows. Verses and articles of mine appeared in school newspapers. In high school I initiated a creative writing group, which, I’m told, eventually became part of the curriculum.
After college and grad school, I married and had children, then went back to school for a teaching degree. Once I began teaching, I also began writing about my experiences. I also learned to drive a tour bus and self-published Touring Martha’s Vineyard with Judy Bigwheels, full of stories both historical and personal.

I had an opportunity to work in a number of international schools. Once I eventually left teaching, I spent the next ten years writing and revising a book for new teachers. I set it aside more than once without publishing it (until now).
Then, many months ago, my son asked me to write my memoir.
Judith – The Story of a Lifetime, spans the arc of my life, from childhood summers through family dynamics – choices, risks, adventures, and transitions, discovering myself in the process. I came to realize that mine is the life story of a woman who tackled challenges common to all women as well as unique to me.

About me as a COPY EDITOR:
In addition to extensive editing experience from student papers, I have also edited nine full-length memoirs and novels, as well as an essay collection working with more than 20 different authors. I have helped countless friends and businesses by editing and proofing websites, newsletters, invitations, brochures, blog posts, articles, editorials, training presentations, professional development materials, and grant proposals.
MY CREDENTIALS:
I have degrees in English (B.A.), Communication (M.S.), and Education (M.Ed.); attended an Autobiographical Writing workshop with storyteller Susan Klein, three summer sessions at Nancy Aronie’s Chilmark Writers’ Workshop, a Lucy Calkins reading/writing workshop, and Northeastern University’s Institute on Writing and Teaching.
The credential that matters most to me, however, is how much I have enjoyed the writing, the research, the editing, and all the experiences that led me to this work.
