What is a legacy project?

Intentionally bequeathed or otherwise, a legacy is whatever you leave behind when you die for others to remember you by.

A legacy project is a deliberate remembrance created by as many people as choose to participate. It can be created at any time and take any form. The project should be something that represents the person whose life is ending or has special meaning for those affected.

For example:

* Some families—or individuals—create recipe books.

* Others make scrapbooks

or family videos

or write stories to go into a collection.

* Photographs can be transposed onto fabric to make a memorial quilt.

* Some might choose to create a garden,

or a special spot or walkway, perhaps in the woods.

* The project could involve crafting a piece of artwork.

A traditional kind of legacy project is a memoir, although those, too, can take any number of forms.
